The Content Conversation Continues

Our tradition for the annual meeting of members is to keep it brief... a quick year-in-review and outline of plans for the year ahead. We'll reveal some improvements in our knowledge services and have time to hear your feedback and questions about PRPD. The ARA/PRPD Otto Award will round out the meeting before a segue to our keynoter:
Lila King, Director of Social Media for CNN.com will share her insights into the world of social media and user generated content, how public media is doing, and what we might do to further expand the impact of public service media. A pioneer in user-generated content, King leads CNN’s social media efforts, overseeing the team that works on CNN iReport, the network’s global participatory news community she launched which now has over one million registered contributors worldwide. She started her CNN career as a webmaster, putting to use the technical skills she developed as a freelance radio producer who wanted to put her work online. King reported and produced multimedia stories on both domestic and international topics before moving to her current role. Her team focuses on integrating new technologies into storytelling presentations. Drawing on this experience, King will share her deep insights into the fast-changing world of social media - from the perspective of "public radio junkie" who belies the idea that "young people don't listen to radio anymore."
